Due to a mixture of things, I had to just take a little break from the knitting. Mainly family issues and I think that Marlene issue really l;eft a spur taste in my mouth. I thought perhaps these~
would act to alleviate some of that knitting induced bitterness, but it turned out to be a bit of a double edged sword. While the sock itself is fun and bright, I decided to make some changes to the original pattern (Mad Color Weave). Mainly I just left out those side twists and am knitting the entire sock in the weave pattern. I ran into my first issue when I realized that I had done the ribbing with the wrong number of stitches. I re-did my math and added the stitches I was short of, but then it turned out that my original stitch count HAD been correct after all and I had to reduce them back. That was slightly irritating. Then, when I felt it was probably about time that I’d be finishing up my gusset decreases, I counted my stitches only to find that I had finished my decreases rounds about 7 rounds earlier. Oops. I had to just shove the sock away for awhile and let it rest. Last night I pulled it back put and found that even with the extra decreases, the sock still fits so I’m good to go.
That’s about it for now. Sorry I’ve been MIA. I have a lot to show this week, especially yarn porn galore, so keep your eyes open!
