Again, this post contains a spoiler for the January RSC. If you’re one of the few that hasn’t gotten theirs yet and wants to be surprised, shoo!! But, of course, feel free to come on back once you’ve got your goodies.
Since I don’t have any pictures that don’t involve the spoiler, I’ll take this space-filling opportunity to bitch about having to get more dental work done tomorrow. Really, it’s nothing major (I hope) but I wasn’t expecting it. I thought I was going in for a quick checkup to make sure everything from the last oral massacre treatments settled right. I am not mentally prepared for drilling and thus am displeased. In addition to this, I scheduled another another appointment shortly after my trip to the periodontist tomorrow and am scheduled to give a pretty big presentation on Thursday. That’ll be great to do with my post-treatment raw blood mouth.
Alright, I say that’s enough filler so I’ll move on to the yummy stuff.
I cast on for my Rare Gem Flabella and am LOVING it. Even the bobbles! It’s like magic. I dig the Rare Gem, too. Nothing flashy, but just plain ol’ goodness. I’m not rushing myself with this pattern at all, which I often do when I first get excited with a new sock. In fact, I’m holding myself back a little pace-wise. This is in part because of the carpal tunnel flare up that I’m currently keeping at bay, but it’s working well for me. Also, as this semester is packing a hefty workload, working in moderation is key to survival. I read a little, spin a little, knit a little, sleep a little, etc.
Speaking of sleep, it’s about that time. I was all excited to have a free evening, though my plans consisted of being nerdy and reading books about deception detection and some chapters on the roots of human “evil” for my presentation on Thursday. Now I need to rest up for the dental work induced panic attack I’ll have in the am. Fun, fun.

Loving your Rare Gems Flabella! I am definitely doing the Flabellas once I get to it. Trying to focus on a couple other projects first!

Wow, I like the rare gems! I wish I could have jumped in on that but I totally missed that bus. I ended up making the cascadia with the rsc colorway..what did you end up doing with your colorway you received? I haven’t finished cascadia..second sock syndrome is such a pain. I picked up some other colorway to do flabella in…moody blues I think.
