Stuffs been going on

Currently I’m looking a fair bit worse than this

bum nose

My summer schedule has gotten so backwards and I’m just now finishing up all this business with my nose. Thins are going pretty rough but I feel confident in saying both that I’m well on my way to recovery and that the whole process will make a huge difference in my breathing. I’m currently still camped out at a local hotel recovering and will be extending my stay here a few days longer as to avoid dog related injuries.

I made a few knitting decisions within the past week or so and the am now trying to finish up a nmber of things that I’ve had laying about. First on the list in my Shawl That Jazz which I’m just now getting ready to bind off. I’ve got to get myself more organized. Hopefully while I’m working on wrangling some of these UFO’s I’ll also be able to start on another long term project in which I hope to use knitting as a progress marker and motivating factor. I’ve been working out a lot recently and have been making a big effort to start taking care of myself again. To keep myself going I’m hoping to make a goal to knit a garment for each pre-determined increment of my little health journey. I believe my first goal will be to lose 10 pounds while knitting Tamzin by Katya Frankel. I bought some absolutely stunning Mirasol Nuna while I was down south and I’m anxious to dig in. I need to finish my Traveling Sweater first, which is being held up by my having lost the pattern. I suppose it wouldn’t be cheating too much to swatch and all that while the one is still in the works.
So that’s my story. I’ll be doing a lot of revamping in various areas of my life over the next few months so things may get more exciting around here.

It never quite works out as planned…..

Life is fun like that. My life, particularly so. I had everything all planned out. Nothing went right. Rather than go through the whole “well, first this happened…then this, which led to this” etc., I’ll just say that I’m done with my summer classes and have been out of town. A lot of the time I *have* been in town has been spent at a hotel so I could work in peace and enjoy certain amenities such as an internet connection. We had some big time issues at the house due to a very large storm that passed through. I was actually en route after leaving my friends house down south when the storm happened, but I got back just in time for the lack of electricity and all that good stuff.

Anyhow, enough of that. The real meat of this post is that I finished my first project in something like a year. Ouch. I don’t even have a picture of it, either. What I do have is an introduction to the freakish mess that was left for me in my office after my time away.

What.

The Clumo #2

The Clumo #3

Crap.

This is the part that I especially like. See that little tiny yarn ball?

The Clump #1

That’s my Blackberry Brambles. Fun stuff, yeah? No. I didn’t think so. And what ever might have created such an atrocity of craft supply horror?

This dude right here. Just chillin’ out and thinking that’s he’s king of the world.

the beast

The boy’s grown a bit. He’s such an ass, but he’s one of the most adorable things I could imagine on Earth so that kinda makes up for some of it.

On the books for this weekend- Cleaning like a mad woman, then I’m going back out of town on Sunday. I’m determined to come home to a nice, tidy house for once instead of my typical re-entry into chaos. I imagine a good bulk of my prep time is going to be spent on that there clump of yarn. If I don’t drown in the fibery knots maybe I can get my act together to take a picture of my FO and a few of the others items that are in line to be finished. We’ll see.
